We are bursting with excitement about this upcoming project – the Hartwood Pioneer Memorial Wall.
Timed to coincide with the 180th anniversary (2017) of the first LDS missionaries to Britain this is something you will want to keep a close eye on.
The project revolves around this 266 year old farmhouse which is surrounded on three sides by the grounds of the Preston Temple. This was the farmhouse which once farmed the fields the whole temple complex is built on.
They are about to be reunited in a remarkable way.
Visit Hartwood Pioneer Wall to watch a short video.

What I believe may be most interesting, would be to have a database, on current church members. Then for speeding up the Lord’s work, there should be easy access for those tracing their genealogical families. I do believe, that this addition should be be free to those wishing to use it, for it is the Lord’s work. Ready made family lines, should easily be accessible, to permit those families, to receive the saving ordinances, the Lord has prescribed. If the site owners wish to have a spin off, or make profit, then it should be made by other means. Some examples of this could be:
* Have your family recorded in an album
* Coats of Alms
* Published works
* Gospel aids
So if the owner/owners have desires of becoming financially accomplished, there is room for this. However I reiterate, the Lord’s work should never be impeded because of financial gains.

Hi Mark
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
We had not considered a ‘live member’ family history database. An intriguing idea but my initial reaction is l think that it is more suited to the geniuses behind Family Search to meld it with their programme than for us to try and match their complex structure. We could provide those making dedications on memorials the option to contact them if we find another family looking at the same line. Rather like an optional matching service and optional consent to share contact details with those who approve us to do so.
The current focus of our project aims to pay tribute to centuries of pioneers so any appearance of family links would be a free by product rather than a paid service.
